Ah, show week nutrition. Half the fat, none of the fun, and not nearly as much water.
My usual favorite meal, lunch, which usually is yummy lettuce, fried tofu, chili garlic sauce and my all-time favorite dressing, Red Wine, Vinegar and Oil by Kraft, has been replaced by romaine lettuce, tofu, and plain balsamic vinegar. Terrible. Just terrible.
I'm also tapering down my water intake, as the show is now 5 days away, so I'm going through the sensation of ants in my pants, the shakes, and probably what crack withdrawal feels like.

What an honor!
I received an e-mail tonight from my online coach, and she said that the owner of the (very large empire of fitness competitor prep) and all the coaches were so impressed that I have come this far as a vegan, that they've asked me to write a testimonial of my SHOW PREP EXPERIENCE as a VEGAN!!!!!
I am floored, I am so excited and flattered. I'm also just flattered because the organization is training so many ladies, that the fact that I have stood out in some way is so exciting to me.
Awww... I'm so flattered. I will write it up for them after my show.
All I can say is "awww"!!!

I've got almost everything I need!
Things are starting to get super close, as of tomorrow, my show is 3 weeks away. Whoo hoo!
I received all my baubles in the mail that I have ordered: rhinestone jewelery, Jan Tana Hi Def, Bikini Bite. I got some fake nails. And Sylvia Tremblay has started to work on my suit, which is probably the most exciting part.
I can't wait to see what she designs for me. :)

Eh, this is dragging out
Not going to lie, I'm getting a little bit tired of waiting for this competition to get here.
Maybe I'm just in a bad mood in general and it translates to everything.
I think that's it.

Figure and Bikini
After being assessed by the queen of the industry last weekend at an event that I attended for people getting into this lifestyle, she suggested that I'd do really well in figure. She said I had good genetics, but have the type of body type that will never get super lean.
I never considered that because I thought I needed a figure suit, as opposed to a bikini suit. Apparently, she said, it doesn't matter.
So, there we have it. I will be competing in bikini and figure at my first show. So I spent some time with my personal trainer last night learning how to flex my muscles, and learning more about the mind-muscle connection. He and I went through how I should practice flexing my muscles for 20 seconds at a time... it's not easy!
Since I had done a leg workout, then his circuit class, I was pretty tired, so my muscles kept cramping up, despite drinking tons of water during the day. So I hope to do some of this tonight and over the weekend, practicing getting that muscle to pop.
For women figure competitions, there aren't that many stereotypical "poses" as one might think (like flexing the biceps, shaking out the quad and flexing, doing all the movements that people joke about when people talk about bodybuilding), but there are only about 3 poses that I will have to do, but it's important to flex the muscles even though we're not doing the muscle-man pose.
I'm pretty excited about doing both categories now, mainly because it's more "bang for my buck" since I'm working so hard, might as well get some experience and a chance to place (yeah right, I'm talking about placing by DEFAULT since the category is small and separated by height) and go home with a cool glass trophy.

OMG 30 Days Away
This is so very exciting, and also, a wee bit stressful.
Though my early morning cardio has been going really well. My personal trainer said I should do steady state, for fat burning. According to the chart on the treadmill, fat burning cardio for my age is about 123 BPM. That is surprisingly VERY easy cardio, so a lot of my cardio right now is that "lazyass cardio," that type of cardio that when I see someone doing it, I'm like "what a lazy piece of crap." Now I'm that lazy piece of crap.
As an example of 123 BPM cardio is a slow walk of 3.5 at a 6% incline. So basically, it's walking up a slight hill.
Makes it easier to read and watch TV when you do lazyass cardio.
